Summary:
Arsène Lupin is involved in two robberies and a scam. The three victims decide to get together and call Herlock Sholmès to travel from London and put things in their place. Sholmès discovers three secrets that are about to lose Lupine: the hidden tunnels through which he moves, the pseudonym under which he lives among honest people, and his passionate love for the daughter of the architect Destange. But the tables turn and Lupine not only manages to escape from Sholmès but sends him prisoner on a ship back to England. So when Baron d 'Imblevalle - whom Lupine has stripped of a Jewish lamp where he keeps the family jewels - calls him back to France, Sholmès is ready for revenge.
