Summary:
Tells a parable about faith and salvation through the story of a monk in a small Russian Orthodox monastery on an island in Northern Russia. Although the monk behaves bizarrely and confuses his fellow monks, he is believed by visitors to the island to have the power to heal, exorcise demons, and foretell the future. The monk, however, considers himself unworthy because of a sin he committed in his youth.
