Christoph Flamm claims in the preface that the version for strings is the original and may have been intended for the Suite for strings, P. 41 (1902). Reconstruction based on the version for piano and the incomplete autograph manuscript, preserved in the Museo internazionale e biblioteca della musica di Bologna (MS 26), dated 1903. Preface by Christoph Flamm in Italian and German; editorial notes in Italian. Includes facsimile of the first printed edition of the piano version, published: Bologna : F. Bongiovanni, 1904-05 (page 6).
