Unlike most people, Charlie Hood sees a part of the American West that others don't perceive. As deputy sheriff, he patrols the vast highways, so he knows that outlaws are still alive and well. Since he finds some kind of comfort in cruising alone in the quiet of nighttime, he's not too happy when Mr. Wonderful is assigned as his partner.
