The 1st part consists of traditional principally wordless songs of the Baka of Gabon; the 2nd part is a fragment of the Fang epic ballad Mvet, with harp-zither, sticks, and choral responses. The 2nd part performed by Akwé Obiang. Field recordings and notes by Pierre Sallée. The 1st part recorded Feb. 1966 and Mar. 1973, Nyanga Mougounda and Elone encampment, near Minvoul, Gabon; the 2nd part recorded 1973, Nkok Esi, Gabon. Previously released on CD in 1983 (C 559053).
