Jaynie Highsmith grew up in Cub Creek on Hope Road, the irony of which the name, Hope never escaped her. She is desperate to leave her hometown and her unpleasant memories behind her, determined to create a better version of herself, but when she takes off she also leaves and forgets important parts of her past and herself.
