"Someone is setting off fire bombs in Chicago. They claim the violence won't stop unless authorities release Hassan Al-Shahid, a graduate student whose plan to set off a bomb at the Art Institute was thwarted by Chicago homicide detective David Gold and his then-partner, Paul Liszewski. It cost Liszewski his life and put Gold in the hospital. Later, as Gold accepts an award on the steps of the Art Institute, a car bomb explodes across the street and Gold receives a text: 'It isn't over.' Soon more car bombs are detonated across Chicago. The bomber has shut down a major US city. Is it just to free Al-Shahid?" -- p. [4] of cover
