Summary:
Gabriel Du Pré finds himself in the White Cliffs area of Montana, a remote region in the shadow of the murky Missouri River. Du Pré has been hired by a group of filmmakers who are shooting a documentary about Lewis and Clark's expedition. Du Pré is a descendent of Pierre Cruzatte--Métis fiddler and voyageur who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their journey; his daughter Maria agrees to play the role of Sacagawea.
