"Designed and produced at the Arion Press in San Fracisco by Andrew Hoyem, with the assistance of Gerald Reddan, Blake Riley, Lewis Mitchell, Kenneth Howard, Brian Ferrett, David Johnston, Sarah Songer, Anna Haglin, Charles Martin, Diana Ketcham, and Laura Samuelsson. The type is Centaur, designed by Bruce Rogers, composed and cast at Mackenzie & Harris, printed by letterpress. The initial letters were drawn by Mallette Dean for the Grabhorn Press. The illustrations were made as polymer plates from film, its emulsion scratched by the artist William T. Wiley with an etching needle. The plates were also printed by letterpress. The paper is an all-cotton fiber sheet made for this book by Mead Specialty Papers, supplied by Legion Paper. This is the first of two volumes of the eighty-sixth publication of the Arion Press. The edition is limited to 400 copies for sale and 26 lettered copies for complimentary distribution. Each copy is signed by the artist." --Colophon to volume1.
