Summary:
Gangoobai, a childless, elderly widow, lives in the tiny colonial hill station of Matheran, where she loves to tend to her beloved flowers in an eco-sensitive zone. Gangoobai's life altering moment arrives when she sees Hodiwala's teenage daughter wearing a magnificent designer Parsi sari of white Chinese motifs embroidered on a background of purple silk. She instantly falls in love with this exotic, expensive, custom-made creation - and longs to own one herself.
