Summary:
A Hollywood actor who has risen from vaudeville to become a silent film star must make the difficult transition to sound films; in early twentieth-century Iowa, con artist Harold Hill invades a small town to sell its citizens, and its piano-teaching librarian, on creating a boys' band; set in the Oregon frontier, a young woman named Milly marries woodsman Adam and discovers that she has to keep house for his six brothers as well, and the brothers discover that they also want wives; follows the life of composer, actor, dancer, and singer George M. Cohan; a racing driver struggles to raise money to enter the Las Vegas Grand Prix and to win the heart of a hotel swimming instructor.
