Details the establishment of industrial greenbelt at Gokak Mills in Belgaum District in Karnataka through collaboration with the BAIF Development Research Foundation, through clearing of stones, and afforestation chiefly through use of the Neem tree. Thus erosion and rainwater runoff on steep degraded wasteland are controlled and resulting change in the microclimate of nearby agricultural land is another improvement for the local population.
