Summary:
Anne Noggle (1922-2005) was a portrait photographer whose unique vision has shaped the medium in ways that have yet to be adequately acknowledged. Her self-portraits, her portraits of old women, and her abiding interest in women in the military are like nothing else in the history of photography. Suffusing her photographs are her profound joie de vivre, humor, and defiant humanism. Portfolios of work selected by the Anne Noggle Foundation are joined with an essay discussing Noggle's life and work by Lili Corbus and a foreword by cultural critic Lucy Lippard. 00.
