Set in the post-Godhra violence which was unleashed in Gujarat during February 2002, this film examines the extent to which extreme ideologies of communalism have infiltrated the sub-conscious of ordinary Gujarati Hindus. In some of the villages in the district of Anand in central Gujarat, Muslims who had been living there for decades have not been allowed to return. Their homes and businesses were looted, burnt down, and destroyed during the post-Godhra carnage.
