Title created by cataloger. "I began this book on Ash Wednesday, and finished it on Easter Sunday, of 2019. I gathered the texts from all the usual suspects in these cases: a pigment-making manual, my diary, class notes, and the wikipedia entry for lent. This paper, a cotton/abaca blend, seemed to fit the book because of the way its edges wrinkle just so. This book would have been worse in not for Anneka Baird and Gabriel Villarroel, who edited the text. This is the first time I have observed lent, and I probably did not do it well (the fish dinner turned into a steak supper), but the beauty of the language used to describe this lenten season inspired this book.
