Summary:
The contemporary challenge of critically reflecting on the Brazilian reality, in an inter/multi/trans and post-disciplinary perspective, materializes in the titles that integrate the Coleção Estudos Brasileiros, of the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros da Universidade de São Paulo, in the Série Paralelos 22, published by Editora Fino Traço. Thinking about Portuguese America and Brazil, from a clear epistemological perspective, presupposes the expansion, density and interconnection of different theoretical and methodological approaches capable of propitiating the apprehension of collective and individual experiences, untapped border research areas or little explored. It also assumes the understanding of the multiple temporalities that constitute the historical process, tensioned between continuities and ruptures. It imposes a comprehensive and vertical look at economic, political and geographical issues, and its social, ethnic/racial and gender configuration, contemplating alterities and diversities, as well as about its educational, cultural, literary, artistic and religious conformation, in a globalized world.
