Summary:
Miss Marple reports witnessing a murder while on a passing train, but the police dismiss her story; Miss Marple suspects a relative is responsible for the death of a wealthy old man; after Miss Marple is made a trustee of a merchant marine training vessel, a fellow trustee is poisoned and the ship's officers are murdered; Miss Marple joins a theatrical company after a blackmailer is murdered and must catch a mysterious killer who has been targeting other members of the troupe.
