Summary:
There are millions of people with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. And while Hashimoto's is an autoimmune thyroid condition, most medical doctors don't do anything to improve the health of the person's immune system. It can take years for Hashimoto's to get diagnosed, and when it finally is diagnosed, many people with this condition are simply given a prescription for thyroid hormone replacement. And while taking thyroid hormone can be important for some people, this of course isn't doing anything to address the underlying cause of the condition.
