Mestre Pop--Lourival Fernando Alves Leite--was a pioneer in setting up capoeira groups in the state of Santa Catarina. After 40 years of teaching, in which he led large groups and saw children grow up to become great masters themselves, today he tirelessly dedicates himself to the spread of a transformative message, of valuing this art in its plurality, and, therefore, of overcoming the paradoxes and paradigms so ingrained at the heart of the different aspects of capoeira throughout its history.
