The police code of silence is tested when officer Rita Sanchez's eleven-year-old son, Shareef, witnesses the murder of his grandmother and other family members. The next day he is hauled off to the precinct and questioned after he's involved in a riot at school. At the precinct, he becomes aware that he's caught up in a messy police investigation when he recognizes a cop who was one of the assailants from the murder scene.
