Notes:
Text without music from The march of the grand staircase, composed by Erik Satie in 1914. Issued in half-clamshell case covered with red linen cloth; paper title mounted on front cover. Red lining papers with text printed in black. Magnetic closure. Statement of responsibility and imprint from front lining of case. Letterpress on Stonehenge paper. Printed on both sides of an accordion folded sheet attached to brightly colored card panels covered with paper. Pleat of each fold also attached with panels. Bound in a French-door structure with printed paper covers. The right and left hand pages can be turned, so each spread can be viewed as a whole as well as in an array of half-page combinations. Each page has a uniquely-shaped window cut through the center, so a pattern, made up of the layered pleats of each sheet, is visible as one opens the text.
