Summary:
Saskia returns to Ivory Hall to train in bone magic, determined to use her time there to figure out how to stop Latham once and for all. With the help of her friends, she tracks down Latham's workshop and finds a vast collection of horrors, including the bones he stole from Gran. Latham has broken them on purpose to replicate the split paths Saskia experienced. But, he isn't trying to control the future like she thought. He's trying to change the past. Saskia didn't think it was possible. Her gran always taught her that the past was a rigid, unchangeable thing, but she remembers Latham's ominous statement before he killed her mother: with enough power, anything can be altered. And it seems Latham has all the power he needs.
