He teaches his son, Simba, about the circle of life, the delicate balance of nature which bonds all animals together, and prepares him to be ruler. Scar, Mufasa's brother, schemes with his hench hyenas to kill Mufasa in a wildebeest stampede. He convinces Simba that he is responsible for his father's death and he flees to a carefree land. Simba's childhood friend, Nala, convinces him to return home to face his duty as king. He finds a land ruined by Scar and the hyenas.
