Summary:
This catalog accompanies the exhibition Frank Bowling: Landscape at Hauser & Wirth West Hollywood. The book is lavishly illustrated and includes foldouts of artwork details. An essay by Dorothy Price of the Courtauld Institute focuses on the dialogue between Bowling's and Turner's work. Bowling's invention of what Price calls "a new sublime" is subsequently explored through the link between Blackness and the sublime. -- Publisher's website.
