Summary:
"Rogue Madden was a laughing man. He and his friends never seemed to take anything too seriously and could find laughter in most situations. After a wild poker party at his ranch house in Mexico, Rogue receives a telegram that a party of nine guests would be arriving that day and bringing the loveliest surprise. When the travelers arrive, there are plenty of surprises. First, they announce they have been robbed by bandits only a few miles from the ranch. Then Rogue is told four of the party decided to go on to Los Angeles since there had been no word from him and no one was there to meet them. Next came the knowledge that Miss Wynne was the daughter of an old friend of Rogue's father. She had come there obeying her father's death-bed commands to live at Madden Ranch with her guardian, Roger Madden. Since Rogue was the only Roger Madden alive at the time of Jim Wynne's death that made him Gipsy's guardian. But the greatest surprise of all was when Gipsy confronted him with the words, "It was you!" accusing him of being the bandit who had robbed them."-- Provided by publisher.
