As a result, analysis of political philosophy preceding the revolution has become subsumed by this narrative. Here, Afshin Matin-Asgari proposes a revisionist work of intellectual history, challenging many of the dominant paradigms in Iranian and Middle Eastern historiography and offering a new narration. In charting the intellectual construction of Iranian modernity during the twentieth-century, Matin-Asgari focuses on broad patterns of influential ideas and their relation to each other. These intellectual trends are studied in a global historical context, leading to the assertion that Iranian modernity has been sustained by at least a century of intense intellectual interaction with global ideologies. 651 0 $a Iran $x Intellectual life $y 20th century. 651 0 $a Iran $x Intellectual life $y 21st century. 650 0 $a Political science $z Iran $x Philosophy. 650 0 $a Islam and politics $z Iran. 651 0 $a Iran $x History $y 1979-1997. 651 0 $a Iran $x History $y 1997- 651 0 $a Iran $x Historiography. $x Historiography. 650 0 $a East and West. 650 7 $a East and West. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst00901090 650 7 $a Historiography. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst00958221 650 7 $a Intellectual life. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst00975769 650 7 $a Islam and politics. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst00979879 650 7 $a Political science $x Philosophy. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01069819 651 7 $a Iran. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01204889 648 7 $a Since 1900 $2 fast 655 7 $a History. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01411628 941 $a 2 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20191211021458.0 952 $l USUX851 $d 20190402014902.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=038550F8E96E11E8978F920F97128E48Initiate Another SILO Locator Search
