She featured prominently in the Impressionist exhibitions and defied social norms to become one of the movement's most influential figures. Berthe Morisot: Impressionism and the 18th Century will draw on new research and previously unpublished archival material from the Musee Marmottan Monet to trace the roots of her inspiration, revealing the ways in which Morisot engaged with 18th century art and culture, while also highlighting the originality of her artistic vision, which ultimately set her apart from her predecessors. Highlights will include Eugene Manet on the Isle of Wight (1875), painted while Morisot was on honeymoon in England, and her striking Self-Portrait (1885), which will appear alongside Jean-Honore Fragonard's Young Woman (c.1769) from Dulwich Picture Gallery's collection. Apollo revealing his divinity to the shepherdess Isse, after Francʹois Boucher (1892), In the Apple Tree (1890) and Julie Manet with her Greyhound Laerte (1893), are among nine paintings on loan from the Musee Marmottan Monet, many receiving their first ever showing in the UK. 600 10 $a Morisot, Berthe, $d 1841-1895 $v Exhibitions. 600 17 $a Morisot, Berthe, $d 1841-1895 $2 fast $1 https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJr3qPbHXJKmc43mkRgkDq 650 0 $a Impressionism (Art) $z France $v Exhibitions. 650 6 $a Impressionnisme (Art) $z France $v Expositions. 650 7 $a Impressionism (Art) $2 fast 651 7 $a France $2 fast 655 7 $a Exhibition catalogs $2 fast 700 1 $a Mathieu, Marianne, $e editor. 700 1 $a Oliver, Lois, $e writer of added commentary. 700 1 $a Arnoult, Dominique d', $e writer of added commentary. 700 1 $a Gooden, Claire, $e writer of added commentary. 710 2 $a Dulwich Picture Gallery, $e host institution. $e host institution. 710 2 $a Musee Marmottan Monet, $e issuing body. 941 $a 1 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20240517011107.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=D471912A141211EF8F56A7732FECA4DBInitiate Another SILO Locator Search
