This "solaristic system" appropriates the aesthetic ideas and principles of thought present in the 1972 sci-fi movie Solaris by Andrei Tarkovsky. This movie is the main center of analysis here since it is highly symptomatic of the medium's philosophical self-reflexivity and its intriguing correlation with reality and being. The "solaristic science" is a fictional science introduced in the movie's diegesis and dedicated to the investigation of the planet Solaris, an unattainable challenge. In this sense, the solaristic system closes the film's narrative by telling a philosophical story on the planet Solaris. The book thus details a philosophical form of concept art, and, at the same time, builds on previous results of film philosophy, as well as the speculative turn in contemporary philosophy 504 $a Includes bibliographical references (pages 173 - 178). 600 10 $a TarkovskiiÌ, AndreiÌ Arsenʹevich, $d 1932-1986 $x Criticism and interpretation. 600 17 $a TarkovskiiÌ, AndreiÌ Arsenʹevich, $d 1932-1986. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst00022414 630 00 $a Solaris (Motion picture : 1972) 630 07 $a Solaris (Motion Picture : 1972) $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01792938 650 0 $a Ontology in motion pictures. 650 0 $a Ontology. 650 7 $a Ontology. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01045995 650 7 $a Ontology in motion pictures. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01904136 655 7 $a Criticism, interpretation, etc. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01411635 776 08 $i Electronic version: $a Reeh-Peters, Christine. $t Being and Film. $d Newcastle-upon-Tyne : Cambridge Scholars Publisher, 2021 $z 9781527567429 $w (OCoLC)1244626565 941 $a 1 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20231117012449.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=45195E604EAA11EDAB62559A42ECA4DBInitiate Another SILO Locator Search
