She outwits him by getting nerdy Norval Jones--who's had a crush on Trudy since they were teenagers--to take her to the movies, so she can slip out to the dance. The soldiers spike the lemonade and Trudy dances with a number of GIs. During one boogie-woogie number, Trudy's energetic partner tosses her in the air, and she bangs her head on a chandelier, rendering her unconscious. When she wakes up, she discovers that she's wearing a wedding ring, and, a few weeks later, that she's pregnant. But who and where is the husband and father? Confiding only in her younger-but-wiser, wisecracking sister Emmy, she plans to get Norval to marry her. Norval is 4-F because of his extremely nervous condition, but he desires only two things in life: Trudy and to be in the army. Norval's willing to do anything to help her, but whatever Trudy asks him to do only makes things worse! 650 0 $a Soldiers $v Drama. 650 0 $a Marriage $v Drama. 650 0 $a Pregnancy $v Drama. 650 0 $a Motherhood $v Drama. 650 0 $a Women $x Conduct of life $v Drama. 650 0 $a Man-woman relationships $v Drama. 651 0 $a United States $x Social life and customs $y 1918-1945 $v Drama. 655 7 $a Comedy films. $2 lcgft. 655 7 $a Screwball comedy films. $2 lcgft. 655 7 $a Feature films. $2 lcgft. 655 7 $a Video recordings for the hearing impaired. $2 lcgft. 650 0 $a DVD-Video discs. 700 1 $a Sturges, Preston. 830 0 $a Archive collection. 941 $a 1 945 $a dvv 952 $l BAPH771 $d 20151210010233.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=B020242C4AC211E4A452877EDAD10320Initiate Another SILO Locator Search
