Artisans and artists began to publish handbooks, guides, treatises, tip sheets, graphs, and recipe books rather than simply pass along their knowledge in the workshop. And they tried to articulate what the new knowledge meant. The popularity of these texts coincided with the founding of a "new philosophy" that sought to investigate nature in a new way. In this book, the author shows how this moment began in the unceasing trials of the craft workshop, and ended in the experimentation of the natural scientific laboratory. These epistemological developments have continued into the twenty-first century and still inform how we think about scientific knowledge. -- $c Adapted from publisher's description. 650 0 $a Technical writing $x History. 650 0 $a Artisans $x History. 650 6 $a Redaction technique $x Histoire. 650 6 $a Artisans $x Histoire. 650 7 $a Artisans. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst00817519 650 7 $a Technical writing. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01144965 650 7 $a Technical writing $x History $2 nli 650 7 $a Artisans $x History $2 nli 655 7 $a History. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01411628 941 $a 2 952 $l CAPH522 $d 20240702031646.0 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20231117033011.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=14FDD36A253111EE91433F782CECA4DBInitiate Another SILO Locator Search
