It is intended to complement the volume Household and Family Religion in Antiquity, edited by John Bodel and Saul M. Olyan (Bodel and Olyan 2008), which grew out of a conference held at Brown University in 2005 on household and family religion in the ancient Mediterranean world, with an emphasis on cross-cultural comparison. After the conference at Brown, there was a session held at the meeting of the European Association of Biblical Studies in Budapest in 2006 in which the focus was narrowed to the gender dimensions of Israelite family/household religion. Two more sessions focusing on the Israelite house as a locus of family religion took place at the European Association of Biblical Studies meeting in Vienna in 2007. A fourth meeting at Westfaelische Wilhelms-Universitaet Muenster in April 2009 emphasized theoretical and methodological challenges facing scholars of household and family religion (e.g., the conceptualization of family/household religion, the problem of identifying pertinent artifacts, and the difficulties inherent in using texts together with material evidence). This volume is a direct outgrowth of the Muenster meeting"-- $c Provided by publisher. 650 0 $a Families $x Judaism $x Judaism $y To 70 A.D. $v Congresses. 650 0 $a Jewish families $x History $x History $y To 70 A.D. $v Congresses. 650 0 $a Families $z Palestine $x History $v Congresses. 650 0 $a Families $x Religious life $v Congresses. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009124084 651 0 $a Palestine $x Social life and customs $y To 70 A.D. $v Congresses. 650 0 $a Families $x Biblical teaching $v Congresses. 650 0 $a Sociology, Biblical $v Congresses. 630 00 $a Bible. $p Old Testament $x Criticism, interpretation, etc. $v Congresses. 650 17 $a Familie. $2 gtt 650 17 $a Huishouden. $2 gtt 650 17 $a Archeologische aspecten. $0 (NL-LeOCL)113081715 $2 gtt 650 17 $a Jodendom. $2 gtt 650 17 $a Oudheid. $2 gtt 651 7 $a Midden-Oosten. $2 gtt 655 7 $a Congressen (vorm) $0 (NL-LeOCL)088142469 $2 gtt 700 1 $a Albertz, Rainer, $d 1943- $e editor. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n80125299 700 1 $a Nakhai, Beth Alpert, $d 1951- $e editor. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2001056999 700 1 $a Olyan, Saul M., $e editor. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n88030590 700 1 $a Schmitt, RuÌdiger, $d 1964- $e editor. $0 http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2004070565 941 $a 1 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20191214022829.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=A28F0328019E11E89C78220097128E48Initiate Another SILO Locator Search
