Summary:
Professor Shashanka, a retired academic, is happiest when lost in a world of ideas. The other members of his family - his wife, daughters and son - do not seem to share with the professor the delights and mysteries of the universe. One day, the professor decides to go out on an unknown errand. Hours pass and then days, and weeks, and months. Still no trace of the professor. Is he dead or has he, for some reason, chosen to go into hiding? The anxious family and friends are unable to come up with a satisfactory solution to the puzzle. Though he may be physically absent from the house, he is very much present inside their minds - more than ever before. As they think about him, reminisce and speculate, a new life begins to take shape - mutli-faceted, mysterious, contradictory, flattering, even a little demeaning. What is the real measure of a man? Can anyone have the full answer?
