Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated each fall in many parts of North America and around the world. On the Day of the Dead, children dress up in costumes and eat candy shaped like coffins and skeletons. Families picnic in cemeteries, go to parades, set off fireworks, and bake special breads and meals. They do all these things to honor and remember people who have died, and to celebrate how wonderful it is to be alive!
