Summary:
A film about the struggle of the Vasquez family from the city's Spanish settlement that finds itself barely hanging on to their land at the turn of the century. Interwoven in the plot is the ploy of a Chinese man disguised as an Occidental to seduce a daughter of the Spanish aristocracy. Set to a Vitaphone soundtrack with synchronized music and sound effects the action careens from rancho to saloon to secret dungeon with a recreation of the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 as the finale.
