Summary:
The greatest team of superheroes Gotham city has ever seen&is gone. For good. Batman, Batwoman, Red Robin Orphan, Azrael, Batwing and all their allies fought to save their city from destruction by a monster they themselves helped create. Now these Dark Knights are disbanding to deal with the fallout. But for young heroes like Cassandra Cain and Duke Thomas, the battle may be over, but the war is just beginning. Theyre not giving up the fight without a fight. If that means turning to a different mentor than Batman? So be it. Its the role Black Lightning was born to play. Even Batman agrees that teacher-turned-superhero Jefferson Pierce is the perfect choice to mold the next generation of crime-fighters. But Black Lightning and the Dark Knight are two very different men. Their competing goals and hidden agendas could pit their protégés against one another, instead of against evil. Is Gotham City big enough for the both of them?
