Summary:
Four years into World War II, the quiet English village of Market Wetherby is in for a shock. They are not being invaded by the Germans, but the American servicemen at the new U.S. airbase are arriving. These newcomers are an entirely different breed altogether. But, for local doctor Helen Dereham and base commander Major James Kylie, they strike up a distinctly warm relationship. In a small place like Market Wetherby, few are left untouched.
