Recounts the story of Palestine commencing with the earliest mass migration of European Jews to Palestine, when 4,500 Jews sought relief from persecution in Czarist Russia. It then guides viewers through Theodore Hertzl's Zionist Congress in 1897, the influx of 150,000 Jews during Hitler's first three years in power, and the events leading to the foundation of Israel, all the while examining watersheds in the Zionist movement's history, including the Balfour Declaration, the Exodus incident and the Dir Yassin Massacre.
