Summary:
Fire over England: Elizabeth I and her navy overcome the Spanish Armada with the support of an Englishman whose father was killed by the Inquisition.
Dark journey: Set during World War I. Stockholm is infested with spies and counterspies. Among them is Madeleine, the owner of a famous dress shop. Her dedication to the French cause is tested when she is attracted to von Marwitz, a lady's man and head of the German Secret Service in Stockholm. Suspicion wars with love, leading up to conflicting loyalties and an action-packed climax.
Storm in a teacup: A local paper is attacking a politician from a small Scottish town. While the reporter battles the politician, he also falls head over heels in love with his beautiful daughter.
St. Martin's Lane: Leigh, a poor street urchin, is taken under the wing of a local street singer. He works her into his act, catching the eye of a composer who goes on to make her a star.
