Summary:
Following American Dreams in China, director Peter Ho-sun Chan turns his sharp humanistic touch to the riveting kidnapping drama Dearest. Based on a true story, the film follows Tian Wen-Jun (Huang Bo) and his ex-wife Lu Xiao-Juan (Hao Lei) as they search frantically for their missing three-year-old son Pengpeng. Years later, after numerous dashed hopes, they find Pengpeng living with Li Hong-Xin (ZHao Wei). But their reunion with the vastly changed Pengpeng proves difficult, and Hong-Xin convincingly claims that she is unaware that the child--who now calls her mother--was originally stolen.
