Summary:
Adrian Leverkühn is a passionate composer who decides to make a pact with the devil in order to create a new musical idiom. Years of acclaim follow, but the price that he must pay for his success is higher than he could possibly imagine. When he cannot keep his bargain to refrain from all close human relationships, his closest friends begin to die as a result.
