Summary:

In 1958, Japan was heading into a period of rapid economic growth, but it did not change people in Yūhichō Sanchome much and they were taking care of each other as always. Chagawa was devoting himself to write a literary novel that would be worthy of winning the Akutagawa Award in order to convince Junnosuke's rich father that he could provide a decent life for the boy as well as get back Hiromi who left him, and Suzuki family took in a spoild little girl from a relative whose business went wrong.
