Summary:
A case of coincidence: In the autumn of 1943, a surgeon's wife seems to have become the fifth victim of a serial killer who has stalked the Fenland region since spring. The police remain confounded, however, because they had their prime suspect under surveillance when the crime took place. A dark blue perfume: Through the charms of her new neighbor, newly widowed Liz rediscovers love. But could his mysterious past conceal a murder?
