Summary:
Viridiana, who is about to take her religious vows, is raped by her uncle when she visits him at his country estate. Consumed by guilt, the uncle hangs himself and leaves his estate to Viridiana and his illegitimate son. Realizing that she is not without guilt herself, Viridiana attempts to make her peace with God and sets up a refuge for society's outcasts.
