When Benny's father, Xavier, returns from being in Iraq for more than a year, he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder that causes him to yell constantly. He causes a scene at a school function and embarrasses Benny so much that Benny decides to run away, but in his attempt to run away is mugged. Benny knows he must learn to deal with his dad both in good times and bad.
