Without sound. Originally produced as motion picture in 1964. "Solar photography thanks to High Altitude Observatory, Boulder, Colorado."
Summary:
In this epic visionary challenge, Stan Brakhage sees with a universal eye the cycles of time and space, the theme of the struggle of man to ascend. His images here include both the microscopic and the telescopic, and range from solar explosions to brief glimpses of his wife's body. The film, consisting of a prelude and four parts, weaves the complex story of the mythical Dog Star Man. An impressionistic, semi-abstract silent film.
