Summary:
In volume one Charlton Heston recounts the saga of Genesis, the wonder of the Creation, the forming of Adam and Eve, the choice of the Tree of Knowledge, the loss of Eden, the dramatic story of Cain and Abel, the power of God's wrath with Abraham and his son Isaac. He continues with the book of Exodus, the life of Moses, his deliverance of the Israelites, the parting of the Red Sea, the creation of the Ten Commandments, and the joyful arrival in the Promised Land. In Volume two, Heston recounts the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, the story of his humble birth in a Bethlehem manger, of the wise men bearing gifts and of Herod's fierce, futile search for the child. He continues with Christ's temptation in the wilderness, the Sermon on the Mount, and concludes with the closing chapters of the life of Jesus--the Passion, Crucifixion and the Resurrrection.
