Summary:

Odessa Cotter, is a quiet, dignified woman who works as a housekeeper for Miriam Thompson. When Odessa honors the 1955 Montgomery, Alabama, bus boycott by walking an exhausting nine miles to and from work, Miriam offers her a ride.
