Summary:
The story of a passionate affair between Vasantasena, the beautiful courtesan and Charudatta, that polarizes two contemporary life styles, the ornate and richly embroidered life of a courtesan and the simple ascetic life of a Brahmin. Things come to a head when Charudutt is convicted of murder and sentenced to death. With devious twists and turns and passions ruling the roost the outcome is sheer delight.
