Summary:
Growing up in Eureka, Mississippi in 1950, Lee is confused about his place in the world, but he doesn't let it get him down. He falls for the beautiful Angelina, whose racist father drives him to a new life in St. Louis as a white man. Soon he's drafted into the psych-corps in Nevada for the Vietnam War. A drunken accident forces him to accept yet another completely different identity, but easy-going Lee just takes it all in stride, ready to move on to the next absurd adventure.
