Summary:
A pro hockey lockout has brought old teammates and new players back to minor league team the Halifax Highlanders, now captained by enforcer Doug "The Thug" Glatt. Soon sidelined in a violent fight and learning that his wife is pregnant, Doug decides to hang up his skates and become an insurance salesman. But as the Highlanders go on a losing skid and their new captain's behavior sabotages the team on the ice and in the locker room, Doug has to make hard choices about his career, his relationships, and his future: whether to stay in a safe job in insurance or risk a career-ending injury by returning to hockey; whether to be there for his teammates or for his family; whether to be an enforcer, or a father.
